Angular 22 is out: signals take the lead
Angular 22 arrived on 3 June 2026 with stable Signal Forms and resources, OnPush by default and an HTTP client built on fetch.
Angular, the framework behind this website and the front end of our apps, released version 22 on 3 June 2026 .
The highlights
- Signal Forms and resources are now stable
- New components use OnPush change detection by default
- The HTTP client now uses the Fetch API instead of XMLHttpRequest
- A new @Service decorator to declare services in less code
- Angular 22 requires TypeScript 6, and Node 20 is no longer supported
What it means for toyfox
toyfox.app runs on Angular 21 and is already built the way Angular 22 points: with signals and without zone.js, and every page is rendered ahead of time. That keeps the step to a new version small. We test new versions before they reach you.
